Despite the name there's a distinct "Downtown feel" to this Upper East Side bar/lounge where
a youthful crew keeps "rocking most of the night" and looking their "hottest" thanks to "nice lighting" and "yummy" specialty martinis; all acknowledge it's "sorely needed" to "fill the void" in the otherwise "frat-heavy" local lineup. |

| Avoiding the frat-guy crowd on the Upper East Side could be an Olympic event, but a surefire way to ditch these ball cap-wearing beer guzzlers is to head to Uptown Lounge. An extensive list of martinis draws many women, particularly on Wednesdays, where endless variations with top-shelf liquors will only set you back six bucks. Upscale but not stuffy, Uptown is packed even during Hamptons summers, and you're guaranteed a bartender equally hot and friendly who is always there for a buyback. A full restaurant serves fat hamburgers, baby back ribs, and plenty of appetizers with an Asian-fusion twist; the only thing diminishing your meal is the bland satellite rock and hip-hop droning in the background. Do we really ever need to hear the Goo Goo Dolls again? | ||
